The handy ring on the top allows you to check the water level if necessary and your vegies remain tasty because the flavour is not drawn out by the water.14/01/2016, By LynThis product is average for me, it does work, but it is not great. Yes, it does fit just about any pot, which is useful and it is conveniently compact. But I found that it takes a long time for the veggies to cook; far longer than they took in my bamboo steamer. The instructions say that you should only put in a couple cms of water in your pot when using it and it sits really low in the pot, so you cant actually put much more water than that in,, or the water seeps through the steamer. This, coupled with the fact that the veg take a while to steam, resulted in my water boiling away before the veggies were cooked, my pot burnt and I had to add more water to finish cooking the veg. So, although, I would recommend it, I would advise that you don add too much veg and keep watching your pot when you use it. I, however, still favour my old bamboo steamer.21/08/2015, By LuisaI love this invention, I steam all my veggies in this to preserve nutrients. It has worked so well in preparing the food for my baby. Its adjustable so it fits into any pot, light and can be taken to any weekend trip away and does not make it necessary to buy another electric appliance for the kitchen :-)
