29/07/2019, By JulieI tried them for laundry and doing dishes. for Adults', no-so-dirty washing, it works fine. for Not too greasy dishes, it also works well. they foam up easily but the foam disappears quicker than conventional options. has a funny vinegary/sour smell to it but it doesn't remain on clothes or dishes.10/06/2019, By JennaI was really surprised by these - I had a sample pack sitting in my laundry for months. When I finally used them I wondered why I hadn't done so sooner and then quickly ordered a full size bag. I love that it is such a simple way of washing with zero nasties in my water that is fed into our grey water dams. Not great for very dirty washing (or if you have little boys that like dirt) but awesome for the every day stuff.15/05/2019, By KateThe soap nuts are packaged in non-recyclable plastic inside the cotton bag. I don't know if it's the same with the Nature Soap brand of soap nuts, but it's worth trying them instead just in case.15/02/2019, By NatashaGreat product! Does what it's supposed to do for not so dirty washing.
I've found it doesn't work so great on really dirty washing though12/02/2019, By ClaireI've recently switched to soap nuts and they seem to work well. I use a combination of stain removers for tough stains (especially on nappies) and because I have a cold water machine, I pre-mix some soap nuts with boiling water to add to the machine.06/11/2018, By DanaI have been looking for an alternative to shampoo for years. I specifically have been trying to find these dried berries for maybe two years but couldn't find them anywhere. I have very long hair and although it doesn't lather and foam like soap/shampoo it works perfectly for me. Another step towards an eco lifestyle thanks to this product. Loving it.16/10/2018, By IlzeLove this! Makes clothes feel clean and soft. Doubles as conditioner as you rinse with it as well! Great value for money!15/10/2018, By GenevieveMy new favourite thing! Not only is it great for washing, but I use the nuts to make liquid soap to use as dish washing liquid (cuts grime & oil better than any leading dish soap) and even place the nuts in the dishwasher instead of chemically laden dishwashing tablets!27/09/2018, By ErikaLOVE my soap nuts! Have been using it as part of my no poo routine and leaves hair silky soft. Warning: you really don’t want to get this in your eyes though! Boiled up a soap nut liquid and using that as washing detergent. No problems (even on whites) and clothes feel as if you’ve added conditioner. Used the liquid as a dishwashing detergent and works well as long as you combine with vinegar rinse. Doesn’t foam as much as commercial cleaners, so don’t think it doesn’t work!18/08/2018, By SueStarted using soap nuts when the drought really hit, and we now capture and recycle all our washing machine water, and use for the garden pot plants and toilet cisterns... The plants thrive on the recycled water, had the best show of Impatience ever, no bugs munching them. I had some commercial washing liquid left, chose to use it up for a couple of washes. I started itching, but did not put it down to the commercial washing liquid, as we had used it for years.. Then my husband complained of itching. So, back to washing everything in soap nuts, just checked with him re. the itching, it is NOT happening to either of us. Obviously having a break from commercial, then going back to it, made us realise, SOAP NUTS rule. The old husks I chuck round my potted plants, reckon if any slugs and snails do make it back, they will have an uncomfortable journeyu...!!18/08/2018, By NewgirlharperI was on the hunt for a natural laundry soap after cleaning up our lifestyle and switching to a totally chemical free household...yes it is possible..just requires a little research.. These soap nuts were the answer to my washday requirements. I boil them in water, strain, add more water, essential oils and add VITAMIN E as a preservative and then bottle the batch. I use just under half a cup per load in my 13kg washing machine. I will never use any other product.
13/08/2018, By TaniaWe tried this for the first time and it's working really well. Soap nuts don't foam as much but our clothes are clean and I'm so happy with the cost and results.21/07/2018, By LanaFoams up really well but doesn't smell wonderful on its own, a but gentle on bigger loads but at least it's eco-friendly, prefer earthsap detergent and fabric softener tbh.19/03/2018, By Nuts about soap nutsI also use these as a shampoo, conditioner and body soap. Absolutely love them.23/01/2018, By VoooksEven the most skeptical person in our household was impressed with these. They're so easy to use and work exceptionally well.09/01/2018, By Natalieabsolutely love this product!! been using these on the cloth nappies and it works!! our laundry also comes out clean. lasts forever!! have the soap nuts for more than a year and still more than half the bag left. Good for our allergies as well .Also good for the environment, catching the water to use on the lawn etc....12/12/2017, By Yuliaglasabsolutely in love!!!!!!!!!!!
will never use anything else!!!
and it so so cheap!!!21/11/2017, By ZestBeen using these for a while now and won't use anything else! My whole family is hooked on these. Clothes are fresh and clean. We don't deal with stains much, so I can't speak to whether they work there. But our towels, bedding, pets' bedding and all other laundry smells wonderful and feels clean after using soap nuts. When I want even more of a scent, I add a squirt of Nu Eco laundry gel - lovely!22/10/2017, By DanielaSuch an interesting concept! I loved the process and the end result. Washing came out clean and fresh and with no backlash on the environment!
So happy!19/10/2017, By SharonMostly works well, but they did leave some brown marks on a few light-coloured items (maybe the load was too big and the nuts couldn't move around?) Nice to add essential oils for extra frangrance.16/10/2017, By Jessica-JaneI really wasn't sure what to expect from the soap nuts but so far I am loving these magical little fruits. My whites have come out far better than I anticipated and I love the neutral smell.12/10/2017, By moiraThis even cleans my husbands off-road riding gear. Clothes are soft and smell great! Love it.06/10/2017, By ElsieUnfortunately not a fan. I have tried this to clean modern cloth nappies, but I did not find them as great as Triple Orange. I think I will try making the soap nut solution next and see how it works for other household cleaning.01/10/2017, By ZestThese little berries are incredible! I was looking for a natural alternative to washing powder, as I only wash laundry in cold water and the powder often leaves residue. These soap nuts surprised me - my clothes are genuinely clean and smell so fresh. I am amazed! Recommended them to my mom and she is thrilled too. Thanks FtN for another great natural alternative!26/09/2017, By ToniSo happy! I have been using salt to wash which I was worried over time would be a problem as I put the greywater from my laundry in my garden. Also, no soap stains on my darks!!13/08/2017, By ChantellWorks! I use in cold water, just soak in hot water before throwing into machine. Will only be using this from now on. I only add few drops of grapefruit oil to rinse. Going to try without vinegar as softner and report back.04/08/2017, By NoemsUsed it to pre-wash all reusable nappies. Did 3 loads, with 4 nuts, for 30 "all in one" nappies!
Definitely economical, the bamboo fleece are very soft, and I jsut added a few drops of lavendar essential oil.
Will definitely re-roder!24/07/2017, By SharonThese are great, and last so long. I love that there is no smell left on clothing, as I hate perfumes. Clothes are so soft. Proof was my husbands denim jeans. Normally come out so hard they can stand on their own. Now lovely and soft. (and I wash in cold water only). Just soak nuts 2 or 3 mins before washing and add. Also work brilliantly in dishwasher.14/07/2017, By SueHave been using soap nuts for some months now, and will not be returning to supermarket detergents. The soap nuts are proving to be extremely economical, and, now with the water restrictions, we are capturing all our water from the washing machine, and using that for flushing toilets, and watering our few potted plants. And, talking about plants, I have never, in all the years I have had my potted plants, been able to save the Impatiens from being munched eventually by slugs etc. Since they have been getting soap nut water, the Impatiens has just flourished, beautiful "show|" like I have never ever had and not one slug munching, they are just going on, and on, and on. I put the used soap nuts in the soil around the plants. Also tried it in the dishwasher, put some nuts in a small bag, tied it to the cutlery tray, and it worked for us. So, yes, soap nuts RULE..20/06/2017, By LeaThis product is amazing - I've used it for shampoo and it worked so well I intend to use it for natural laundry detergents. It makes your hair so soft so I can only imagine what it does to clothing.15/11/2016, By JoyceI bought this after reading many raves about it. Tried it, and I must say clothes smell CLEAN (I never really know what clean smells like, but you will know after you used this!) and whats even better, clothes are super soft! I love it so much, now Ive found a product that I can use on familys clothing without having to separate it with babys. The water from the washing machine gets recycled into the lawn. Nothing is wasted. I am really happy with this buy rather than buying washing powder+softener at the stores (expensive and fragrance is often too strong for babys liking). This is economical, effective and environment -friendly. I am recommending it to all my friends and family!17/10/2015, By ChantelleGreat product. Really works , clean , fresh and soft laundry. Washing water we use to water our garden and it is thriving. Love the idea of adding 10 drops essential oil like lavendar to the little bag before the wash , great for linen. I Will definately buy again....i15/05/2015, By GraceNot a fan of the smell, but the soapnuts are effective at gentle cleaning.31/03/2015, By LelanieThe soap nuts does work, but not so much on heavy soiled items and whites. I LOVE that it makes clothes soft without using a softner. Saves money using these instead of detergent and softner. Will definitely use this for normal loads and wash my whites with something else.12/02/2015, By RachaelSuch a good price for environmentally friendly laundry. They work a treat on my babys nappy. The nappies come out still a little stained but thats nothing the sun can sort out! The nappies are much softer than when I was using conventional detergent, without giving any negative effect on their absorbancy.15/12/2014, By MicheleIve been using soap nuts exclusively for clothing and my babies cloth nappies for over 6 months now and I have no regrets. They don have any fragrances, so clothes don smell at all. I get as good a results as I did with Omo but this is better for our home, baby and the environment - not to mention our pocket!! Way cheaper than washing powder. The only downside is that you need to track the washes to know when to change nuts. But there are various ways to know when they are done - so its really not hard! Try them!06/09/2014, By AmandaI am happy with how clean our clothes come out with the nuts. It is hard to tell when they are finished but I keep with the recommended washes per bag.
