04/05/2019, By DeonThe description on the website isn't misleading - it's just wrong. This product is not suitable for most modern, low flush toilets. If your cistern has a lever mechanism for flushing, great, this will save you water. Otherwise, save yourself the money (and the environment the manufacturing materials) and find some other solution.
P.S. I suspect just putting a discarded brick in your cistern could save even more on money, resources in general, and water specifically.22/08/2018, By CarlinEasy to install, great water-saving device19/06/2018, By ElineI see no difference when flashing in my 2 other toilets. But be aware, if your toilet hasn’t enough pressure to flash, don’t use this product because with lesser water to flush, your toilet drain can become clogged over time23/03/2018, By Simoneso easy and it works perfectly. Thank you for such a simple idea!09/02/2018, By Deri-AnneBarely saves a litre. For the price, I'm very disappointed. In the most modern 3L cistern, saving 1L is great. In most other toilets, it barely makes a difference.29/01/2018, By BronwenIt helps by taking up space in your cistern and won't damage it like a brick would or cause debris to float up.09/01/2018, By JanineI thought there would be such a difference that one might have problems with flushing. There was no problem at all, its as if one isn't even using dry planet. Works great.03/12/2017, By AstraI love this product! I really want to save water and it works like a bomb!21/11/2017, By Dry Planet SADry Planet does not and has never carried out any testing on animals. The Save-a-flush bag contains a super absorbent polymer which is inert but does swell up when it absorbs water, hence the caution in the event of it being accidentally swallowed.
Save-a-flush also contains a small amount of silica sand (like you would find on the beach). This sand serves to give the bag some weight so it will help it sink when placed in water. Even though sand is perfectly safe normally , if you work in an environment eg a factory in which you breath in silica dust over a prolonged period then it can be harmful.
Because of this risk, in certain states in the USA, in particular California, it is a legal requirement for products containing any silica to carry a warning even if the chances of silica dust being generated and inhaled are negligible. As Save-a-flush is also sold in the US, the warning has been included on the bag. We hope that clarifies the situation and reassures you that our products are safe and that we are not in favour of ANY animal testing.
The Dry Planet SA Team21/11/2017, By DanniGreat simple product! Lots of innovative people trying to solve this water crisis!!21/11/2017, By CandiceThis product was tested on animals - a note on the back of the pack says that eating the contents could result in organ damage, based on animal data. I wish I had known before I purchased it, I don't even want to use it now!

We love that you are an Earth Warrior & can see where the confusion can come in with the wording on the packaging, but we can assure you this product is not tested on animals. Silica is known to have an effect in animals, which is why the warning states that it may be harmful if swallowed. Thanks for always being faithful to our Earth and looking out for signs on packaging.03/11/2017, By LeeSuper useful, effective almost immediately. Much better than bottles and bricks.27/10/2017, By MandyFantastic! I bought 4 and they all work perfectly without causing the flushing mechanism to jam. Definitely worth it16/10/2017, By XGAwesome! Great idea, no wonder its award winning!
Lets buy for family and friends. Great Xmas gift for people in Cape Town..16/10/2017, By JimmyLoved the simplicity. You can put a brick in the cistern as mentioned by Kim but no-one every does it.
This is a sure way to make sure you save water!
Highly recommended.16/10/2017, By KimThis product is kind of a rip off because in south africa we just put a stone or brick into the cistern and it does the same job. I tried it because it sounds awesome and i thought it would be an improvement on the brick. Alas, it was not.04/10/2017, By Thabo DSimple, effective and a genius idea!
Everyone in CT should have one without doubt! Why isnt the government handing these out to high use areas?
I can imagine the difference these would make at schools and hospitals!26/09/2017, By Yvonne CFantastic little product. A must for all toilets that are more than two years old.
We need these in high use areas to save water!!11/09/2017, By BernadetteI was honestly surprised (and shocked!) on how much water this saves! It is a bit bigger than expected but works like a charm.09/09/2017, By BIt is fantastic! A bit bigger than expected, but once it's soaked through it instantly saves you water.06/09/2017, By PJInnovative way to save water during this drought!
Just what we need for everyone to do their bit!29/08/2017, By Joe SSimple, cheap and very clever product.
I am going to buy for family and friends and spread the love in CT.11/07/2017, By NomvuyoGreat innovation and alot easier than putting a bottle in the cistern.
Struggled to fit the bottle in my cistern and it toppled over all the time.
Great price and awesome product. I cannot praise it enough.22/06/2017, By LindiweAwesome, easy and clever product.
Highly recommend it to anyone. Fits both my older style and dual flush toilets at home.
I am going to speak to my work to see if they will purchase some.21/06/2017, By JannieReally simple but very clever way to save water without changing a thing.
Everyone needs at least one in their toilets throughout their houses. Tell kids to recommend to their schools and lets try end this water shortage we are facing!21/06/2017, By JamesWe have one of these in each of our toilets at home. It's a convenient, affordable way of saving water that requires zero attention beyond simply popping it in your cistern on day one. Importantly, it doesn't impact on the working of the cistern (either from a wearing or effectiveness perspective) so no real reason not to get one.19/06/2017, By AyandaThis is a pretty clever and interesting idea. Worth trying out13/06/2017, By JustineA really great way to save water. We bought 3 for all the toilets in our house and it has been the simplest way to reduce our water usage and bill. Seriously, it should be law that everyone makes a plan to use a product like this.03/04/2017, By CathysHi,
Having recently installed a Flush Away in all my household toilets I can honestly say not only has my water consumption gone down noticeably but so has my water bill each month!!
Each and every person should have at least one of these in all their household toilets.
Please share with friends and spread the love! This country is in desperate need of water savings.28/03/2017, By Spring10The Flush Away is really simple and easy to use and has saved ALOT of water daily in my family.
You don even notice the difference. I have bought some for my family and friends and they LOVE it!
@Lee the issue with putting a bottle or brick in your cistern is that the brick disintegrates over time and clogs the mechanisms and a bottle does always fit a cistern due to the shape. The product was made to solve this issue.23/03/2017, By AndreaHonestly, i just slipped this into the cistern on the opposite side to the floating orange ball and forgot about it. Checked 2 days later and it had taken up space in a quarter of the tank! And I don even notice a difference during a full flush so it in no way affects efficacy. Crazy to think how much water was used unnecessarily. Neat little water saver this guy!
