When you rub it on it cools the skin slightly, it does pull your skin fairly tight as the mask dries out. I feel it's best to leave on for 20-30 minutes for best effect.
Once you wash your face with warm water. The skin is slightly red. I didn't feel any irritation, it's very gentle. You can feel the skin is soft and clean afterwards. Even a day later I could feel the treated area is still softer and feels more moisturized.
